Catering for all manner of corporate and social events, with a bistro open 7 days for lunch and dinner, public bar with sports-viewing and TAB betting as well as a full-service gaming lounge.

History of the Met

Dating back to 1887 when The Metropole Hotel was first built it was known as ‘The first and last’ as it was the first hotel/pub that wharfies and sailors would stop at on the ‘Port to City Pub Crawl’ and the last stop as they returned home.

Undergoing many renovations over the years this historic building is now heritage listed with the front facade remaining the same. We want to honour this heritage and while also creating more history.
